My name is Nathan Spring and I am a leading personal trainer on the Sunshine Coast. I own and operate a small boutique gym in the heart of Woombye, The Local Gym Woombye. Since opening the gym I have had the opportunity to train so many incredible people, allowing me to develop effective training plans for a broad range of goals that achieve great results.

My work away from The Local Gym includes working with individual athletes and sporting teams from many different codes including AFL, Netball, Basketball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer and Gymnastics.

My favourite way to keep fit is to participate in a large variety of activities, both indoors and out, that are social and fun. I currently play AFL but was always involved in a range of different sports growing up. My biggest achievements in sport were representing Queensland in the AFL and competing for a year with the Gold Coast Suns in their inaugural TAC Cup team. Since then I have proudly played and won premierships with the Noosa Tigers AFL Club and Nambour & Hinterland AFL Club.

When starting The Local Gym Woombye my goal was to create a gym that offered a friendly, community based environment that supported locals in developing healthier lifestyles through exercise and education. Since opening we have done just that and it’s been amazing to be able to work so closely with members of the local community and create such a positive change in people. Being a small facility we focus on small group classes to allow for a more personal service in order to cater to each person’s needs and abilities. We also endeavour to give continual support to gym members by monitoring exercise execution and offering help through exercise planning.
